As the Vice President of Technology, you will lead the engineering and infrastructure efforts for the company’s technical ecosystem. This pivotal role demands a forward thinking technology leader with a unique blend of technical expertise, industry awareness, customer sensibilities, SDLC experience, and a passion for innovation. As a key member of the company's leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing and steering technology functions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and steer technical engineering strategy and direction across the organization.
Establish a unified technical approach and implementation across all engineering functions.
Transform product, operational, and integration concepts into solutions aligning with business objectives, market needs, and financial drivers.
Own engineering processes, evaluating and integrating new ideas into product roadmaps and operations.
Recruit and retain a team of highly skilled professionals aligned with company and departmental objectives.
Mentor and advise while driving technical decisions and direction.
Act as a primary technical resource, simplifying complex issues, building consensus, and driving swift resolution across engineering teams.
Oversee processes and manage relationships related to 3rd party technology partners, vendors, tools, and services.
Enhance and elevate the company's technology capabilities and strategies.
Ensure a continual pulse on contemporary technology approaches.
Lead a global, high performing technology team.
Daily Responsibilities:
Strive for bestinbreed technical solutions and operational excellence, prioritizing performance, security, and scalability.
Ensure alignment of operational engineering initiatives, product briefs, and specifications with the overall Engineering strategy.
Manage technical adoption and change management in collaboration with stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvements in engineering processes.
Manage Engineering staff, encompassing Product Engineering, Operations Engineering, and Integrations.
Communicate vision and priorities to internal and external stakeholders.
Deliver continuous improvements in engineering processes.
Drive and oversee cloud adoption.
Represent Engineering requirements within the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
Identify key success metrics, analyze engineering changes’ results, and communicate outcomes and next steps to cross functional teams.
Analyze and review product data and customer interaction trends.
Develop strong partnerships with Business Development, Operations, Marketing, and Product Strategy teams.
Lead efforts in managing legacy infrastructure.
Promote and drive technology adoption, automation, and data strategy.
Education:
Degree in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Over 10 years in Engineering Management, driving technology solutions within the clinical trial space, including SaaS delivery.
Experience working with engineering teams and contractors.
Success in managing and engaging offshore or nearshore engineering teams.
Strong experience in Application and Data technologies, including software architecture and development.
Extensive experience in cloud adoption and migration.
