Job description
Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Director to join their dynamic team. As a key player in the organization, you will be responsible for driving business development and ensuring customer retention within the thin gauge cold-rolled steel sales category. This position reports directly to the Director of Business Development.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Travel required; 50% - 80% (mostly Midwest)
Pursue new business opportunities, both spot business and contractual, with a focus on thin gauge cold rolled steel sales.
Increase revenue in targeted accounts through effective relationship-building and sales strategies.
Build consensus, secure commitments, and close business deals to meet and exceed sales targets.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in relevant associations and events.
Prospect for new business and maximize growth opportunities within the steel sales market.
Conduct competitive market intelligence, analyze positioning, and adjust strategies to enhance market leadership.
Forecast sales trends, communicate competitive situations, and contribute to strategic planning.
Maintain and enhance our sales position with existing customers through routine contact.
Develop and execute a strategic business plan in collaboration with the sales team.
Interface with Client Services Associate (Inside Sales) to ensure customer requirements are met.
Address customer quality issues promptly and effectively.
Travel as necessary to support business objectives.
Position Requirements:
Thin gauge cold-rolled steel sales experience required
Bachelor's Degree required.
Minimum of 3 years of outside steel sales experience.
Experience in the electric motor, transformer, or power generation markets.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Incentives:
Salary: 100K - $150K/yr. base + commission
