Job description
Working under the direction of the Vice President of Facilities Development and Information Technology, this position is responsible for organizing and operating Purchasing and its related functions and activities including new product and equipment evaluations, contracting and negotiating with vendors, assembling purchasing requirements for facility start-ups and asset valuations where appropriate. This position will work closely with key business units and ministries to ensure purchases for projects and operational needs are coordinated and communicated in an efficient and timely manner and within budget. In addition, this position is responsible for assisting in recruitment, hiring, training, development and retention of staff.

Required qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field or equivalent education/experience.
High school diploma or GED with equivalent years of related work experience.
Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
3 years in a supervisory role in Materials Management.
Experience working effectively with senior executives, management, staff, physicians, contract personnel and vendors.
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business or Health Care.
Purchasing Certification upon hire.
Procurement experience with large capital projects and within a healthcare environment.
Management experience.
Experience with Six Sigma quality improvement processes and tools.
Experience with Lean Production/Manufacturing processes and tools.

Providence Physician Enterprise (PE) is a service line within Providence serving patients across seven states with quality, compassionate, coordinated care.
