Catering Manager Job Duties and Expectations

As the Catering Manager, your main job is to take the Ian's Experience on the road! You will bring the customer service and quality that our customers love and expect to different event locations. You will coordinate with customers and help with the preparation and execution of events, and to do this successfully, you will work closely with the Garver General Manager and Kitchen Manager to ensure adequate staffing, food ordering, and order execution. You will supervise a shared catering staff and be responsible for the training and development of your people.

You will also work on projects and provide managerial support to the Garver restaurant location in during the slow catering season.

Catering Manager Requirements

• Experience as a supervisor or manager in the restaurant industry is required. Catering management or event management experience is preferred.
• Embrace and embody Ian's Standards for Customer Service, Food Quality, and the Big Five Code of Conduct (Dependability, Awareness, Connection, Generosity, and Effort).
• Interested in making a career move to Ian's Pizza and ready to learn and grow!
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods. To bend, crouch, and lift to 20-50 lbs. To use ovens, pizza cutters, and other equipment of the business.
• Cross-trained and regularly able to perform all entry-level positions (Front of House, Cook, Delivery) within 6 months of being placed in position.
• Must complete a food safety certification course within 4 months of being placed in position.
• English language proficiency is required for this position.
• Reliable transportation to and from the Garver location and event locations
• Must be 18+ to apply.

Catering Manager Schedule

This position is salaried for 45 hours per week: 20-30 hours in operations/on-shift, about 5-10 hours on people development and training, and about 5-10 hours on administration and meetings.

Your schedule is posted 2 weeks in advance, and all catering offers must be finalized 2 weeks before the actual event.

9-5 is a Dolly Parton song, not a job at Ian's Pizza. Catering events happen during evenings, weekends, and on weekdays. As a leader in the restaurant, you will work with the leadership team to be available for emergencies and help find coverage or cover shifts as needed.
