Job Title: SAS Specialist
Location : Albany, NY (onsite)
Duration : Long Term Contract

Pay Rate : $60 - $65/hr W2 or $70/hr C2C or 1099
Mode of Work : Complete onsite work at office situated in Albany, NY
Must have experience with Dataflux or Public Health Data
Preferred Qualification:
- Graduate degree in a related field and experience in public health research and program evaluation. Intermediate or advanced proficiency using SAS or SAS DataFlux.
- Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis, data quality and data management, particularly with large confidential health-related datasets. At least two years of experience working with data related to any of the AIDS Institute populations (HIV, STI, HepC, OUD, ect.).
- Experience in producing and synthesizing results of public health research, surveillance, or evaluations; statistical methodology, interpretation, and dissemination of data for varied audiences, and provision of surveillance and evaluation technical assistance.
- Experience in creation of data products and visualizations for use in reports, peer reviewed publications or grants. Experience managing or leading data matching project/collaboration with multiple data systems. Advance proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience communicating effectively to various audiences in writing and verbally.
Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will coordinate, oversee and lead a data management team in the Committee for Matched Data Access (CMDA) responsible for the matching project the project within the AIDS Institute.
- The intent of the project is to establish routine matching procedures across established AIDS Institute (AI) data systems and additional identified data sources.
- The incumbent will provide technical expertise and be responsible for overseeing and performing all aspects of the project; establishing, documenting, and maintaining matching procedures using SAS DataFlux, working with representatives from each data system to establish those procedures, lead a team of staff to develop the actual SAS DataFlux matching jobs and all related work, from creating the initial matching jobs to validating the results, utilizing the results of matched data to respond to data requests, and establishing written procedures within the CMDA to govern the process for responding to data requests.
- The incumbent will oversee data analyses in support of the project, as well as in support of policy and program needs related to health care and support services for individuals with HIV, sexually transmitted infections and hepatitis.
- The incumbent will contribute to workgroups or committees, coordinate and oversee the dissemination of data, and provide training as part of a team including accessing, processing, resulting, and reporting of data for matching.
