Sun Chemical is seeking a Accounting & Reporting Manager , to join our Corporate Accounting team in  Parsippany, NJ (Hybrid) . This role will report to the Director of Corporate Accounting and will provide the financial insight and intelligence our leadership depends on to make critical decisions, allowing us to grow our business and manage our costs. The Accounting & Reporting Manager will collaborate with other finance teams and perform other functions as needed to delegate and manage reporting, compliance, and controls projects. To be successful, the incumbent will develop strong working relationships with key personnel in the corporate functional departments, in identifying, and implementing process improvement opportunities, and providing accounting guidance on routine matters. This role may also have direct reports.

 

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and report monthly expenses for the company’s global corporate functions, including investigation of variances and preparation of management presentations.

• Apply working knowledge of the ERP system (SAP) to investigate and analyze account balances and transactions; recommend and oversee relevant postings to ensure the integrity and accuracy of reporting as per US GAAP standards.

• Acquire a working knowledge of the consolidation system (Magnitude/BFC) and assist in the preparation of the worldwide consolidation of corporate functions, including preparation of consolidation journal entries, reconciliation to SAP, and reconciliation of management accounts.

• Oversee the preparation of supporting schedules and reconciliation of general ledger accounts for quarterly audit reviews, quarterly J-Sox reviews, and year-end audit.

• Work closely with the functional departments and assist in developing Capital Authorization Request forms to support investments and ensure appropriate depreciation schedules are executed in a timely manner.

• Coordinate the Budget and Forecasting processes for Corporate Functional Expenses, including oversight of the input files, tracking, and following up on functional requests.

• Direct the posting of relevant intercompany invoicing of corporate functional expenses.

• Assist various corporate finance functions with special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed.

 

Qualifications:

• 10+ years' experience in finance/public accounting or equivalent experience.

• 5-8 years of leadership experience in Finance required.

• Proficiency in SAP is required.

• Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint & Excel (including pivot tables) is required.

• BFC or other consolidation systems experience is a plus.

• Big 4 Auditing experience is a plus.

• Strong research skills with close attention to detail and analytical mindset to spot trends and anomalies.

• Strong ability to work as a team member in a fast paced, multitask environment, and thrive under pressure and hit tight deadlines.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) - able to influence others using facts and data.

• Display appropriate ethical knowledge through extraordinary confidentiality, integrity and professional presentation and conduct.

 

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA or CPA strongly preferred
