Job Description
The Executive Director, Human Resources, CSO works in direct partnership with the Global Chief Strategy Officer and provides strategic guidance, consultation, and support to meet the needs of the business. As a key member of the Human Resources and CSO team this position is responsible for providing global strategic Human Resources leadership and direction in the areas of talent management and succession planning, organizational design and development, team and individual performance, workforce planning, employee relations, coaching and policy direction, and compensation planning. Additionally, this role will be tasked as the lead business partner for Olympus Enterprise level Global Target Operating Model (GTOM) initiative which is tasked and empowered to work with all businesses, functions and regions to develop the right target operating models to effectively and sustainably support the achievement of our Corporate Strategy. This will require looking at Organizational Designs separately and holistically, skill and capabilities, business processes and governance. his role will partner and collaborate with regional and global human resources teams to accomplish CSO talent and people strategic objectives.
Job Duties
- Designs and implements strategies collaboration with CSO senior leadership to best address business and talent and people objectives. Builds relationships with senior leadership across functions and regions to understand key business strategies initiative and objectives.
- Collaborates with leadership to create and provide innovative Human Resources solutions for CSO global team as well as working collaboratively with other global HR business partners.
- Interfaces and collaborates with global and regional HR organizations to effectuate CSO talent and people related strategies and initiatives.
- Learning & Development – Identifies training needs and actively supports the career development of employees within CSO. Collaborates with the HR Learning and Development group to develop and deliver training and development programs that are aligned with business objectives.
- GTOM Organizational Design – Lead global efforts on behalf of CSO and in partnership with HR BP around functional, divisional, and regional organizations working with the team to understand long term design, benchmarking, employees.
- GTOM Harmonization of Employee Levelling & Titling– Work with global and Regional HR Leads and compensation planning team for CSO to define boundaries and best practices that can be applied globally for harmonization and equity and yet allow the freedom to operate competitively in our regional markets.
- GTOM Capability and Skill Gap Assessments – Work in concert with HR business partners for Divisions, Functions and Regions to understand skill and capability gaps and associate mitigations plans in a cohesive and orchestrated manner.
- GTOM Change Management – Spearhead communication and change management planning in collaboration with the appropriate parties around operating model changes in a way that we have.
- Provides regular HR analytics to CSO leadership to communicate emerging issues and trends and recommends mitigation strategies.
- Leads, directs, and develops Human Resources staff supporting CSO, MSA and CTO in the U.S.
- Provides leadership and guidance regarding employee and labor relations in collaboration with Legal and local HR business partners in various regions. Responds to sensitive and confidential issues and concerns raised by all levels of employees in a confidential, timely and objective manner. Responsible for Human Resources investigations when necessary.
- In conjunction with stakeholders within both the business and Human Resources identifies and recommends changes/improvements to policies and processes and aids in developing new policies and practices that will add value to the organization.
- Collaborates with Human Resources leadership and peers to strive towards consistent Human Resources policies and practices throughout the organization while representing the needs and strategy of CSO.
- Regularly visits and interfaces with business leaders and employees in various locations when feasible.
- Manages overall HR CSO Budget to ensure that costs are managed closely.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or Industrial Regions, business or related field or equivalent knowledge and experience desired; Master degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive combined regional and global HR experience as a strategic HRBP and including 5 years as a people leader. Experience should include such areas as: talent acquisition, employee relations, L&D/OD, compensation, and benefits.
- Thorough knowledge of global/regional employment related laws and regulation trends.
- As mentioned, this is a global role and will require attending early and late meetings regularly and in accordance with our global working guidelines. Ability to travel by plane 10-15%

- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point applications is essential.
