The Role
The Azure Data Engineer provides technical skills in implementing and operationalizing the hybrid cloud environment. Designs, deploys, and migrates systems for Cloud services including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments. Duties include, but are not limited to designing, configuring, deploying, and managing Azure IaaS, SaaS & PaaS services, and solutions; implementing and maintaining Azure Cloud tenant; designing and supporting solutions in cloud and virtualized computing environments; and providing technical leadership and direction to a team of IT Specialist. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Key responsibilities
- Help stakeholders understand the data through exploration and build and maintain secure and compliant data processing pipelines by using different tools and techniques.
- Use various Azure data services and frameworks to store and produce cleansed and enhanced datasets for analysis.
- Design Data Stores utilizing the following architectures: o Modern data warehouse (MDW) o Big data o Lakehouse architecture
- Ensure that the operationalization of data pipelines and data stores are high-performing, efficient, organized, and reliable, given a set of business requirements and constraints.
- Identify and troubleshoot operational and data quality issues.
- Design, implement, monitor, and optimize data platforms to meet the data pipelines.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor s degree in computer science or mathematics is highly desired.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience managing cloud networks. A minimum of nine years of experience will be considered without a degree.
- Proficient with using the following to create data processing solutions: o Azure Data Factory o Azure Synapse Analytics o Azure Stream Analytics Azure Data Engineer o Azure Event Hubs o Azure Data Lake Storage
o Azure Event Hubs o Azure Data Lake Storage
- Solid knowledge of data processing languages, including: o SQL o Python
- Monitor Stability, deployments, performance via event logging and metrics.
- 2-3yrs experience in Azure Databricks Programming
- Extensive experience implementing security-based data solutions for statistical and analytical use.
- Collaborate with developers, programmers, and designers in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications.
- Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures.
- Excellent logical and problem-solving abilities.
- Microsoft training and certification will be considered a strong asset.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Very high attention to detail.
- This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
