Job Description:

The wage range for this position is $90000 - $110000 with the actual pay dependent on your skills and experience as they relate to the job requirements.

As part of our commitment to a flexible work schedule, this role does not have a set amount of vacation per year.

You are:

The Mechanical Design Engineer uses AutoCAD to prepare clear, complete, and accurate working plans and detailed drawings from rough or detailed sketches and notes. This position requires the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and follow up with key partners to finalize design task or design layout projects in a timely manner.

You will:

• Work closely with the Sr. Director of Operations to design conceptual layouts of new locations in partnership with the local team
• Assess engineering requirements and translating into technical blueprints, drawings, layouts, and simulation models using CAD software
• Follow quality control procedures for completeness, accuracy, and code compliance for the implementation of design standards
• Work with the project team members to execute projects on time and on budget
• Provide alternative design concepts and assist in troubleshooting design or model issues for conflict avoidance in layouts and designs
• Create and update database of design records for future reference purposes and future implementation of design/drawing standards
• Assist the team in CAD drawing and designing tasks to be used in effective communication to others for implementation of the work

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design cost effective, comprehensive mechanical solution inclusive of conveyor and all peripheral equipment necessary to satisfy the requirements of the business case
• Present comprehensive engineering solution to internal stakeholders linking design elements to specific customer requirements
• Develop detailed drawing packages for approval and release
• Participate in request for proposals (RFP’s) across various vendors for engineered equipment and installation services
• Revise drawings as required through detailing, manufacturing, or field changes
• Oversee vendors and contractors to ensure your design is properly understood and installed at the customer’s site

Your background:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you have :

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical conveyor solution design
• Proficiency in AutoCad or Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with graphic presentation clarity
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to travel up to 30% as project needs
• Ability to think strategically, forecast and help promote operational efficiencies through design implementations in the field
• Strong analytical skills for multiple option arrangements and layouts
• Strong organization skills for independent working with problem-solving and project management coordination of project designs/layouts

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E.)
• 3-5 years related experience in conveyors, Automation & Robotics. Some experience in either architectural, civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related fields
