JOB SUMMARY:

The accountant assists the controller in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the accounting department. The position is responsible for financial reporting, reconciliations, journal entries, corporate reports, and other administrative functions in the accounting department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs cost analysis related to manufacturing overhead rates.
• Performs financial analysis related to sales, margins, and department expenses.
• Assists with Corporate reporting, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assists with SOX testing.
• Assists with the development of the annual profit plan, forecasts, and process improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Economics.

Experience:

• 3 -5 years of Financial Analysis, and Accounting principles.
• Professional Skills.
• Advanced Excel skills; strong understanding of GAAP principles; ability to analyze balance sheets, income statements, and department expense reports.
• Experience with implementing process improvements.
• Cost analysis.
• Journal entry preparation/account reconciliations.
