Job description
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Energy Storage Engineer & Business Development Manager to spearhead our renewable energy projects and drive business development efforts. This dual role position encompasses the technical expertise required for the engineering and design of renewable energy systems, along with the strategic business acumen needed to identify and capitalize on new market opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of renewable energy technologies, energy storage, and the dynamics of the energy market, combined with a proven track record in strategic business development within the sector.
You will report directly to our Senior Business Leader of Energy Storage and you’ll work out of our Houston, TX or Des Plaines, IL locations on a Hybrid work schedule with occasional travel as needed. We will also consider offering relocation assistance for qualified candidates.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and evaluate energy projects focusing on renewable energy technologies and energy storage solutions to ensure they meet technical, financial, and environmental criteria.
Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, potential business opportunities, and competitive strategies in the renewable energy sector.
Lead the negotiation and establishment of partnerships and contracts with stakeholders, including suppliers, clients, and regulatory bodies.
Oversee the lifecycle of energy projects from conception through to execution, including budgeting, scheduling, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Provide technical and strategic guidance to project teams, ensuring best practices in engineering and project management are applied.
Develop and implement go to market strategies for new offerings, including pricing, positioning, and promotional activities.
Prepare and deliver insightful reports and presentations to senior management, offering strategic recommendations based on market analysis and project outcomes.
Requirements:
Minimum of 6 years of experience in renewable energy engineering and project management, with a proven track record in business development within the energy sector.
Exceptional understanding of renewable energy systems, energy storage technologies, and market dynamics.
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem solving abilities.
Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in conducting market research, data analysis, and developing business strategies.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time and budget.
