Job description
The Manager, Global Supply Chain and Trade Compliance is an integral part of the Supply Chain and Logistics team, providing tactical leadership support to the finance, program management, engineering and operations teams. This includes management of sales orders, shipment coordination, inventory management, entries in the corporate enterprise resource planner, and trade compliance leadership. This role will serve as the primary liaison between Program Managers for various global programs as well provide a single point of contact for logistics, returns, order fulfillment, and compliance. This position will serve as UltiSat’s Senior Empowered Official in the trade compliance program.
*This position will be on-site in Laurel, MD with the opportunity for a hybrid (remote/onsite) work environment.*
- Manage daily sales order entry process in enterprise resource planner, to include full lifecycle of customer order management.
- Monitor daily traffic of small parcel and spares shipments, as well as RMA tracking and spare parts dispatches.
- Review all shipments and customer orders for trade compliance red flags, and report red flags to internal management. Confirm export classifications prior to shipment.
- Liaise with freight forwarders and courier shipping companies such as DHL, communicating with manufacturers and vendors, and tracking return process timeliness.
- Provide administrative maintenance of spares, RMA reports, sales order reports, and shipment tracking.
- Perform physical processing of returned spares and RMA parts.
- Provide inventory management data entry, and support warehouse manager with cycle counting.
- Archive business records in proprietary data management system according to corporate records management process.
- Support quality management program as needed to ensure operational success.
- Prepare shipping documents and provide shipping support to other departments.
- Perform daily updates of internal tracking databases with the latest customer information and customer shipment details, and engage directly with customers, both internal and external.
- Manage trade compliance program, including export license management, protection of technical data, routine reporting requirements, deployment of annual training programs, and support in product classification.
- U. S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government issued security clearance.
- 5-7 years of logistics, purchasing, or supply chain experience.
- 4-6 years of trade compliance, including in an environment supporting BIS, DDTC and OFAC licensing requirements. Direct experience with export licenses, CCATS and encryption filings required.
- Experience with routine government reporting requirements, including for annual encryption filings.
- High comfort level with presenting to teams and sharing information to internal and external customers.
- Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional demeanor when working with customers and colleagues at various levels in a global environment.
- Effective organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Ability to work proactively and assertively and adhere to tight deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Valued but not required skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, supply chain, or related field.
- Familiarity with Dynamics SL or similar ERP (SAP, Oracle).
- Familiarity with Filemaker.
- Customs brokerage license, Certified Export Control/Certified Export Manager, or similar such trade certifications.
