R e s p o n s i b i l i t i e s

The DISA Hosting and Compute Center (HACC) is a one-of-a-kind organization responsible for providing our nation’s warfighter with hosting and compute solutions to achieve their mission. DISA HACC maintains multiple enterprise data center environments located around the globe. Our members operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring a team of dedicated, highly competent professionals.

This is a remote position but you MUST live in one of the following areas:Oklahoma City, OK, Montgomery, AL, Cleveland, Ohio, Denver, CO, and Ogden, UT.

The NSX-T Engineer will be responsible for planning, engineering, implementing, and maintaining virtual infrastructure and associated components in a DoD enterprise environment. This position supports the development and ongoing maintenance of a DoD next generation private cloud utilizing virtualization and cloud technologies such as ESXi, vCenter, NSX-T, vCloud Director, and vRealize Operations. For this effort, VMware NSX-T knowledge and experience is required.

What you’ll do:

The VMware NSX-T Engineer is also responsible for the following but not limited to:

• Implement, utilize, and conform to enterprise cloud architecture application solutions, strategies, processes, and standards, focusing on expertise in cloud technologies.
• Provide engineering guidance and Subject Matter Expertise (SME) on all Cloud technologies to mission partners on Virtual Data Center integration and external Cloud resources.
• Provide SME engineering and troubleshooting on VMware NSX-T
• Perform storage & network Configuration.
• Create virtual networks and switches.
• Map physical network interfaces to virtual switches
• Configure Storage Area Network multi-pathing.
• Create shared Virtual Machine file systems and mount onto server farm members.
• Perform Storage or Virtual Machine movements.
• Perform Host configuration and maintenance.
• Update patch levels and maintain up to date security postures.
• Load Virtual Infrastructure Software
• Configuring storage partitions for internal disk
• Assign Virtual servers to Management Servers
• Install Virtualization licenses.
• Implement solutions and plans for complicated x86 and cloud infrastructure optimizations.
• Install, configure, and manage Cloud software to include Networking and Security, and Operations Management Suite in a large multi-site configuration.
• Configure and manage VXLAN and VLAN backed networks.
• Configure Cloud allocation models, including pay-as-you-go, allocation pool, and reservation pools following vendors recommended best practices.
• Provide configuration and management guidance for the Cloud Infrastructure
• Assist x86 systems administrators with evaluation of operating systems and applications and provide tuning guidance to maximize infrastructure performance.
• Implement mission partner high availability features in the Cloud.
• Implement engineering solutions for mission partner Cloud networking, configuration, and communication of enterprise security services and customized databases.

Q u a l i f i c a t i o n s

Required Qualifications:

• BS 12 years of experience, MS/MA 10 years of experience, PhD 7 years of experience; High School Diploma and 16 years of related experiences in lieu of degree requirement.
• Must have a DoD 8570 Certification such as Security+ or CISSP.
• Experience with virtual infrastructure technologies
• Must have VMware NXS-T experience at an engineering/SME level
• Experience with cloud solutions.
• Experience with traditional and storage networking.
• Must have ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences.
• Excellent project management and prioritization skills.
• A current Active Secret Clearance.
