This is a 12-month on-site contract with an option to extend.

50-80$ an hour

DESCRIPTION: Seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with Data Acquisition, and Analog Design backgrounds. As part of a passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for the maintenance and sustaining engineering of various spaceflight avionics testing systems. This is a hands-on position that will involve you in all aspects of engineering, design, fabrication, installation, and testing. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

This is not a remote position. You must be willing to work in Kent, WA as needed to directly access the system hardware.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Develop and own Tester Systems Hardware (HW), tester racks, tester load boxes, and other equipment from requirements definition to design, build, integrate, verification and qualification test, and operation. Collaborate with Software (SW) engineers to integrate tester hardware control and communication systems.

· Develop and own Tester Systems SW from requirements definition to design, build, integrate, verification and qualification test, and operation. Collaborate with HW engineers to integrate Tester SW control and communication systems.

· Collaborate with Test Execution Team engineers to perform failure analysis for Tester HW/SW control and communication systems.

· You will own the Tester HW and SW, and the Tester electronic HW assemblies across the entire tester life cycle, from concept and requirements definition, design, analysis, prototyping, schematic capture, layout, design review, wiring diagram, build and integration, verification, and qualifications and through release to production testing.

· Support Tester architecture trade studies, analyses, performance characterization and specification, and device selection.

· Support tester risk analyses, and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies.

· Participate in program level technology development, mission assurance and safety initiatives, and Tester Hardware development process improvements.

· Effectively communicate development status, risks, and challenges to management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

· Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related disciplines

· A breadth of understanding in electronics hardware development such as developing complex circuit cards, consumer electronics, wireless devices, or other advanced electronic commercial or aerospace products

· Ability to work hands-on, both independently and as part of a team, throughout the development and production phases of the electronic assembly product lifecycle

· Experience with analog, digital or mixed-signal circuit design, including analysis, simulation, test, troubleshooting, and part selection.

· Experience with Altium and Creo.

· Knowledge of signal integrity, power, grounding, and general board layout principles

· Experience designing circuit card assemblies, test cable harnesses, and equipment enclosures.

· Experience with electronic test equipment (multi-meters, oscilloscopes, loads, network analyzers, BERT, DAQ, etc.)

· Familiarity with amplifiers, analog-to-digital converters, power supplies, and analog circuits

· Knowledge of common communication methods, such as RS232, RS422, I2C, SPI, LVDS, Ethernet, CAN, or PCIe

· Desire to work hands-on, both independently and as part of a team, throughout the development and production phases of the electronic assembly product lifecycle

· Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and supply to a culture of collaboration.

· • Proficiency troubleshooting analog and digital hardware with bench measurement equipment and data acquisition equipment

· Strong understanding of Data Acquisition Principals

· Hands-on experience with high reliability mission critical software development

· Proficiency configuring and troubleshooting test networks.

· Proficiency with the Linux Operating System

· Python, Linux shell and Windows batch scripting.

· Experience with git for SW development

· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

· Ability to lift and install cabling, junction boxes, and other electrical equipment.

· Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired

· Master of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related disciplines

· Successful Candidates typically have 5+ years of experience in design, development, test, and operation of Test Systems Hardware

· Demonstrated experience designing high reliability safety-critical, Class 2/3 board assemblies; familiarity with IPC-A-600/610, DO-254 and similar standards.

· Experience with Test Systems hardware development, integration, and test

· Scripting, Programming and Analysis: LabViEW, C, C#, C++; MathCad (or similar analysis tools)
