As the Head of Architecture and Innovation, you will guide Chatham Financials' technology strategy forward focusing on areas like Artificial Intelligence (AI) Architecture and Digital Transformation. Our technology team is made up of a team of Software Engineers, Testers, DevOps/SRE Engineers, Security Engineers, UX Designers, Quantitative Analysts and Data Engineers. We build software for our clients that range across multiple sectors and industries as well as tools for our internal users to help them better serve our clients. We interact daily with each other as well as our key business stakeholders to ensure quality and speedy delivery of our product offerings. The Head of Architecture responsibilities include leading the development and implementation of solutions fostering a culture of improvement and driving the organization towards future success through technology.
In this role you will oversee Chatham’s solution architects, and AI specialists to architect, lead and accelerate the application/technology platform vision that powers the entire organization’s product offerings. You will support roadmap discussions within Chatham and with our largest customers, having the opportunity to influence and drive almost every aspect our technology capabilities and deliveries. As an experienced technologist and innovator, you will lead and inspire the use of new tools, approaches, and technology partnerships to ensure Chatham continues to take a leadership position within financial services technology. In this role you will:
- Be a Strategic Leader
- Create and implement a plan for innovation that matches Chatham’s goals and current market trends.
- Collaborate closely with top level executives to define and execute the technology roadmap.
- Manage Innovation
- Identify and prioritize technologies and business models that can enhance the organization’s competitive edge.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams in developing and executing projects and initiatives.
- Create AI and Data Strategy
- Develop and oversee the implementation of the organization’s strategy for AI and data utilization.
- Provide guidance to teams in creating and deploying AI algorithms and machine learning models.
- Direct Architecture and Digital Transformation
- Lead a team of Solution Architects deployed across the technology organizations to deliver collaborative and innovative architecture.
- Drive transformation across all areas of operation leveraging technology to enhance business processes well as customer experiences.
- Engage with Stakeholders
- Foster relationships with personnel, external partners, vendors as well as various business units.
- Collaborate with departments to ensure that innovation strategies align effectively with business objectives.
- Participate in Research and Development (R&D) and Prototyping
- Take charge of overseeing research and development activities encouraging experimentation and prototyping technologies and concepts.
- Manage Budgets and Resource Allocation
- Create and manage the budget for innovation ensuring that resources are allocated effectively.
- Report on the return on investment (ROI) of innovation initiatives to leadership.
- Ensure Compliance and Governance
- Guarantee that all innovation projects comply with regulations while aligning with Chatham’s policies and standards.
- Establish governance structures for innovation projects to ensure coordination, alignment, accountability.
Contributors to your success:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
- Master’s Degree (preferred): Particularly an MBA or a master's in a relevant technical field.
- Given the rapidly evolving nature of technology, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to continued learning, such as certifications in project management (PMP), IT service management (ITIL), or specific technologies/platforms relevant to the business.
- At least 8+ years of experience in the tech industry, with a significant portion of that time spent in management or leadership roles.
- Experience in driving innovation projects, leading technical teams, and managing complex IT initiatives is essential.
- Proven experience in leading diverse teams, managing cross-functional projects, and driving organizational change. This includes excellent people management skills, with an emphasis on inspiring and fostering innovation.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution is necessary. This includes the ability to envision and guide Chatham's technology direction to align with its business strategy and the foresight to anticipate and act on future technology trends.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, as this role requires explaining complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders, negotiating with senior management, and inspiring teams.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex, systemic issues that span multiple technologies and business areas.
