HVAC INSTALLER JOB DESCRIPTION
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Under general supervision, maintain, repair, and service heating and air conditioning systems and equipment throughout the service area. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all HVAC systems. Follow our code of values every time company uniform is worn. This will ensure you will have fun in the process and the customer will be happy with the company's HVAC services.
QUALITIFICATIONS
Certifications:
- EPA Certification
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
- Valid Driver's License
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and service techniques.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring and operating principles of motors.
- Knowledge of local codes.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems.
- Ability to use hand and power tools.
Experience: Preferred but not necessary
* 3 years’ experience in HVAC fields.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Greet every customer well dressed and in company uniform with a great mentality and attitude throughout each install.
- Wear only company approved uniforms daily when representing company when conducting installs or out on service calls.
- Listen to the customer's concerns and needs regarding their home when installing a full system.
- Educate the customers on new equipment or system as well as all products and services the company has to offer that can improve system efficiency, indoor air quality, reduce cost of operation, improve health, reduce cost of operation and cost of repairs.
- Replace heating and air conditioning systems in attics and outside for residential homes, including rooftop equipment for commercial.
- Precisely install new heating & air conditioning systems and components that were agreed to be purchased and installed.
- Relocate and expand existing HVAC systems as needed.
- Repair, replace, or calibrate controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and piping according to specifications and code.
- Wire and connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, and humidity controls according to wiring schematics.
- Maintain install schedule and procedures for all system equipment, including changing of filters and cleaning attic and outdoor area.
- Receive and complete work orders and all necessary procedural paperwork for every install.
- Maintain accurate records on material, equipment information and labor used.
- Maintain truck inventory and company-owned tools, equipment, and materials.
- Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean of any and all debris.
- Work with residential homeowners as well as building principals/supervisors to complete installations.
- Respond to emergency calls as needed.
- Follow company procedures before, during and after each install and service calls to be as efficient as possible.
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment as well as maintaining company vehicles and trailers when needed.
- Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures and that equipment is in safe operation condition.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor.
- Obey all traffic laws while driving company vehicle.
- Wear shoe booties at all times in the customer’s home or business.
- Have fun in the process because we all need to laugh on those hot days!
