Job description
Job Title: Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician
Locations: Multiple sites in B.C
Base Rate:$60/hr.
Meal Allowance: $60 per day when not in a Camp setting.
OT: 4 hours daily paid out at $90/hr.
Schedule: 14X14 - 12 hour days.
Accommodations: Company housing is provided at no additional cost some sites have camp
Flights Paid: Yes, fly into the location from any major airport in Canada
Tools Provided: Yes, you will be working out of brand new fully tooled service trucks
Travel Time: Paid to and from the site daily on most sites and each end of your set
We are looking for self-starters that are career-minded that are ready and willing to get the job done in a safe, positive manner and, must be able to work in a professional manner with co-workers and customers. This job is located in many different locations across BC and we are primarily servicing open pit mining operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair, various types, and brands of heavy equipment
- Utilize computerized and other testing equipment to determine repairs and create detailed service reports
- Transmission and drive-train repairs: repairing or replacing transmission components, differential gears, and drive shafts
- Interpret and complete both scheduled and unscheduled work orders
- Contribute to the ongoing reliability of all heavy equipment and complete preventative maintenance requirements
- Test repaired equipment to verify proper maintenance
- Make recommendations regarding repairs and methods for improvement
Requirements:
- Must have minimum 3 years of recent experience working in the field preferably working out of a service truck working with off-road construction and mining equipment
- Experience with mining equipment will be considered an asset
- Machine brands preferably worked on are Hitachi, CAT, John Deere, Komatsu
- Must be a Journeyman Heavy Duty Off-Road Technician
- Red Seal needed if coming from out of province
- Solid experience diagnosing and troubleshooting
- Solid electrical and hydraulic experience
- Physically fit – heavy lifting required
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to legally work in Canada
- Must be able to pass a 8-panel drug test (including marijuana)
