Job Description: We are seeking candidates with a strong lab management background to assist us in managing our growing fleet of hardware and lab space. You'll be responsible for all aspects of the team's lab operations from ensuring inventory and tracking of all lab devices, ensuring test systems remain online, keeping track of consumables, organizing spaces to increase the team's efficiency and help setup new equipment and lab space to help with project expansions.
This role is located in Sunnyvale and requires to be onsite.
Job Duties and responsibilities: - Own the coordination of lab space allocation, layout, communication and expansion.
- Manage lab inventory of devices, parts, test equipment and other supplies. Create and maintain the parts store and device storage for long term storage.
- Create and follow process for tracking use of all lab devices as well as consumables.
- Conduct regular inventory audit, verify device locations and inventory cycle counts for all SCV labs and remotely administer for lab outside of SCV.
- Manage regular check-ins, tracking and proper storage of inventory in locked and controlled locations. Manage lifecycle of units and parts, including proper disposal at end of life.
- Establish protocols for use of inventory and test devices for consistency across line of businesses, design and develop organizational policies relevant to regulatory safety, security and lab operations and gain agreement with LOB QA leads and managers.
- Partner with QA and System teams to plan and procure lab consumables, modules and test devices.
- Run the automated test scripts as provided, collect test data and populate results in various dashboards.
- Setup up automation test racks and draft lab layouts considering test station requirements, equipment size, access requirements, network, utilities, safety, and ergonomics.
- Layout and maintain local equipment on Automation rack with a proper inventory tagging mechanism to account for each piece of equipment including cables, flash drives, monitors, keyboard, mice, power supplies, etc.
- Coordinate with facilities team for any lab upgrades necessary to expand and maintain lab operation such as but not limited to network upgrades, or maintenance, privacy curtains, test benches, office furnitures, lab clean up and any other facilities upgrades. Create schedule and communicate schedule of activities with the team.
- Manage proper disposal of electronic waste, recycle material including cardboard boxes, crates and pallet waste in accordance with EH&S and NPS policies.
- Coordinate deliveries with mail room, internal and external delivery partners as needed. Pick up devices from mail center and transfer of devices locally in SCV bldgs as needed.
Key Qualifications: - Networking fundamentals
- Experience working and expertise using Mac OS
- Able to work with Excel, create pivots tables
- basic search and look up in the large databases, excel tables
- Experience working with automated testing
- Programming experience in Ansible/AWX, Splunk, Python, Bash will be preferred
- Able to lift heavy weights up to 30-50 lbs
Education & Experience: - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- 3+ years of prior lab management
- Understanding of Unit, Functional, System, Performance, Technical and Operational testing and the tools utilized.
