At Imagineering Research and Development, our mission is to use technology to build new experiences for our Guests and new tools for Imagineers and the Cast Members who power our parks. R&D is a team of engineers, designers, artists and scientists who share a passion for solving hard problems and building ground-breaking experiences. As a project manager on this team, you will support the teams working on new ways to bring characters to life, build impossible magical effects in the real world, build immersive environments, and create interactive experiences.
As the R&D Project Manager, you will report to the R&D Business Manager. In this position, you will play a critical role in the success of our projects and products by seamlessly managing our contract, change order, and vendor processes. You will also support the coordination and execution of our internal and public-facing events, along with various department support tasks.
This is a Full-Time role.
What You Will Do
Contract and Vendor Management
Partner with the Sourcing & Procurement team to initiate and execute R&D projects.
Keep accurate and updated records of contracts, change orders, and related documents.
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to understand and properly document change order requirements.
Ensure on-time payment of contract and change order invoices.
Anticipate potential roadblocks or barriers to the contract and change order process and take initiative to remove those barriers.
Events & Public Engagements
Partner with department administrative team to coordinate logistics for events, which can include travel arrangements, shipment of supplies, catering, and AV requirements.
Partner with project teams to plan internal and external showcases of R&D projects, including internal communications to the department.
Department Support
Control and review access for R&D facilities and park security clearance for R&D project teams.
Own reminder system for weekly R&D timecard entries/reports and PCARD Monthly submittals.
Assist with facility-related tasks and requests on an as-needed basis.
Required Qualifications & Skills
10+ years’ experience in Project/Program Management, Vendor Management, Contract Management, or a related field
Basic knowledge of SAP and Excel
Thrives working in collaborative interdisciplinary groups comprised of engineering and creative talent
Experience managing the requirements of a diverse collection of stakeholders
Excellent organization and communication skills
Ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines
Demonstrates attention to detail and thoroughness to ensure accuracy in their work
Have a strong curiosity for new technology and a passion for Disney Experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with workflow automation and process improvement
Ability to adjust and adapt to quickly-changing priorities
Education
Bachelor degree in Business Administration or a related field

The hiring range for this position in California is $90,500 to $124,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Job tags
