Summary

 

The essential function of the position within the organization is to provide responsible administrative, secretarial and clerical support to the Honorable Judge Santo DiGangi. The position is responsible for administrative, secretarial and clerical tasks of high confidentiality and responsibility. Work is performed under general supervision of a County Court Judge. 

 

Examples of Work Performed

 

 

MINIMUM Education and Experience Guidelines

 

High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of college or vocational school education in paralegal, secretarial skills, computer operation or closely related field and 4 years of experience as a legal secretary or paralegal; or any equivalent combination of education or experience. 


Relevant experience and/or education may substitute for the recommended minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.  

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to e-file court documents and implement a paperless process. Ability to organize documents electronically. Proficient in a technologically driven environment with intermediate to advanced computer skills. Working knowledge of trial court (including civil traffic, criminal traffic, domestic violence, misdemeanor, and small claims) rules and procedures. Ability to type proper memoranda, briefs, drafts, opinions in the standard format. Knowledge of court procedures and understanding of basic legal terminology. Must be highly organized; demonstrate close attention to detail and the ability to work in stressful situations. Must have a demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse set of people in an open and friendly manner. Working contacts are made with Judges, Court Administration, Clerk & Comptroller, Court Administration, State Attorney, Public Defender, private attorneys, Staff Attorneys, state and local law enforcement agencies, the news media, and the general public. The purpose of these contacts is to receive, convey, and explain detailed information regarding county court procedure and policy. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
