Static Jobs - IT and software engineering jobs in the US, Canada and the UK Healthcare Analyst SAS, reporting, healthcare The Health Care Analyst will support multiple departments' health data analysis initiatives through measurement and evaluation via statistical analyses by using SAS, ACCESS, other SQL database management tools, and interpreting/presenting research findings to program teams and departmental managers. EDUCATION B.S. /B.A. degree required. Master degree preferred. EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 years work experience in an analytic and data management environment, preferably in a health care or managed care setting. Must be able to work independently and in small work groups with staff members and managers having similar or disparate interests and/or priorities. Demonstrated project planning, oral and written communication and presentation skills are essential. This includes but is not limited to: Identify research questions relevant to the project objectives. Determine that objectives can be quantified and identify appropriate data source and collection methods. Determine the scope of data analysis tasks required. Establish and maintain integrated, interdepartmental timelines for individual tasks and overall project completion. Select software tools and defines the appropriate technical and analytic approach required – SAS, ACCESS, and others. Develop methods for consistency and validity checking to assure accurate data selection and appropriate application development. Determine the most appropriate approach for packaging results, specific to the relevant audience. Delineate and conduct health data analyses using primary and/or administrative data sources to meet project-specific objectives. This includes but is not limited to: Query the Red Brick claims data warehouse. Write programming to do data manipulation and analysis. Construct, execute, and/or oversee software application development – SAS, ACCESS, others. Consult with appropriate staff and managers to refine research questions and analytic approaches. Integrate information from multiple sources (i.e.: project-specific results, standardized reports, other project findings, and current business initiatives). Interpret information relative to project research questions and business objectives. Make recommendations for business actions and future analysis. Produce project-specific documentation to reflect analytic methods used, key decision points, caveats, and strategies to facilitate project adaptation to meet changing business needs. Develop interim and final oral and written presentations to reflect project results, tailored to specific audience/reader needs. This includes but is not limited to: Prepare graphic and tabular summaries of findings. Write reports in memo, executive summary, business, and scientific report formats, as appropriate to the specific project and audience. Prepare and conduct oral presentations of findings to project work groups, client’s senior managers, provider groups and accounts, as appropriate. Develop and/or modify reports related to utilization, cost, risk and clinical outcomes, and assure the accuracy and meaningfulness of reporting across Medicare Preferred and commercial products. This includes but is not limited to: Consult with end users to identify information needs and outline optimal report formats to achieve business objectives. Write and maintain management specifications for health services reports developed by Quality and Health Informatics (QHI) and programmed by Information Systems (IS). Facilitate IS report construction through collaboration with IS programmers. Conduct or coordinate parallel testing with IS to assure that the report meets management specifications. Assure that all data elements are reported consistently with other health service reports.
