Senior Payroll Administrator
Overview: As the Sr. Payroll & Benefits Specialist, you'll play a critical role in executing payroll processes and managing benefits administration. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you'll handle a variety of tasks related to payroll, benefits, and employee inquiries. The Sr. Payroll Specialist is s responsible for full cycle bi-weekly payroll processing in a multi-state, multi-employer environment for more than 800 exempt and non-exempt employees in accordance with established departmental policies and in compliance with State and Federal regulations
Main Points - Must have Associates Degree
- Pay: 80k-90k
- 3+ years of Multi State Payroll experience
- Experience with Ceridian Day Force preferred
Job Duties - Responsible for the accurate and timely processing and production of multiple legal entity payrolls, including executive pay with additional compensation considerations, and processing off cycle payroll.
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Maintain operating procedures manual and ensure policies and procedures are up to date and are being followed.
- Continuously evaluate, analyze and recommend to the Division Controller opportunities to improve and/or stream line payroll processes.
- Identify, research, investigate and resolve payroll anomalies during routine payroll analyses and audit.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Federal, State and Local payroll regulations and taxation, including those related to employee benefits. Ensure compliance is maintained.
- Timely assist employees and managers with payroll related inquires in a professional manner
- Accurately prepare weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for employees across multiple states and employers
- Handle special payments, off-cycle adjustments, and wellness credits, including levies and garnishments
- Ensure timely funding for 401(k), Deferred Compensation, and HSA contributions
- Maintain and manage the electronic timekeeping system, including new hire training and assistance for managers
- Collaborate with managers to maintain accurate PTO balances
- Stay updated on payroll compliance regulations and provide support during audits and reporting
Requirements - 3-5 years’ experience in processing full cycle payroll in a multi-state, multi-employer environment with exempt and non-exempt employees,
- Associates Degree in Business, Accounting, or Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education, certification and experience.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Analytical ability to resolve employee payroll problems by reviewing records and reports, by identifying errors, and by correcting errors
