DESCRIPTION
Otterbein University is seeking an
A ssistant Director for the Center for Student Engagement: Campus Center Management . This position is responsible for day-to-day Campus Center operations, event programing, the development and oversight of student organizations, coordination of a Student Ambassador Team, and support to the Center for Student Engagement and Student Affairs division.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
CAMPUS CENTER Programming: - Manages a Campus Center Student Ambassador Team to coordinate student events and develop a campus hub for engagement and learning
- Responsible for coordinating weekend and evening events in the Campus Center in collaboration with other campus departments (e.g. Residence Life, Library)
- Oversees a Campus Life event calendar to promote all student engagement activities
- Coordinates social media platforms to raise awareness about all Campus Center activities
- Represents the university in the planning of external community events held at the Campus Center
CAMPUS CENTER Operations: - Implements the vision for the Campus Center facility with attention to improvements and needs
- Coordinates day-to-day operations of the Campus Center in collaboration with the Office of Events and Conferences
- Supervises the Campus Center student staff including hiring, supervising and training all student workers
- Responsibility for facility management including working with the Service Department to ensure work orders and maintenance are completed in a timely manner
- Maintain procedures of systems and policy statements for building use and functions
- Serves as the Building Captain for Environmental Health and Safety
- Manages the operations of the Campus Information Phone System
- Serves on the Campus Center Renovation Team
STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS Oversight Responsibilities: - Serves as the University's primary contact and administrator for CampusGroups involvement platform and its management
- Manages the annual student organization registration renewal process
- Works with all student organizations to ensure they have current constitutions which meet Otterbein standards and requirements
- Serves as the primary liaison and support for student organization advisors
- Oversees annual training requirements for student organization Advisors, Presidents, and Treasurers
- Communicates with organizational officers and advisors to inform them of campus events and leadership opportunities
- Provides support and recommends resources for all Otterbein student organizations
General CSE and Student Affairs Responsibilities: - Assists in the management of the general operations of the CSE including: strategic planning, risk-management, supervision of student employees, communications, outreach, public relations, tracking, and assessment
- Serves in an advisory role for student organizations, when needed and appropriate
- Participates in a team approach to coordinating programs within the department
- Serves on campus committees as appointed or needed including, but not limited to: Commencement and Homecoming
- Completes reports and assessment of programs and activities
- Serves as a Promise House emergency mini-grant navigator
- Manages evening and weekend activities
- Provides fiscal management of Student Life allocations and expenditures
- Manages the AliveTek platform for anti-hazing education
- Tracks all anti-hazing workshops and on-line training compliance
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: supervise student workers
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred or 2-3 years of related experience in event management, student development, or student activities.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: a valid driver's license.
REASONING ABILITY: Must possess excellent attention to details; must be a team player and interact collegially with co-workers and other constituencies. Must be able to find solutions to routine and non-routine problems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to communicate, sit, reach and use repetitive motions of hands and wrists.
