Job Overview The Assistant Driver works alongside the driver to deliver product orders to assigned accounts.
During a shift, L&F Assistant Drivers can expect to:
- Assist drivers with proper Department of Transportation (DOT) driving procedures.
- Complete required truck and equipment inspections throughout the day.
- Greet customers, check in beer, verify invoices, and collect payments at each customer account.
- Assist in maintaining adequate inventory at each customer account.
- Work to increase product knowledge and utilizes that knowledge to assist salesmen and drivers in selling more product.
- Sell product in accordance with company guidelines and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC).
- Assist in maintaining pristine product displays at customer accounts by auditing point-of-sale materials, such as signs and posters, to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Monitor freshness of product as customer accounts and ensure rotation and removal to meet company standards.
- Keep company vehicles clean and alert the fleet department staff to maintenance needs.
- Perform all driving-related duties in accordance with the federal Motor Carrier Act.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements - A valid driver's license and the ability to work towards obtaining a commercial driver's license (CDL).
- Proper licensing from the TABC to sell alcoholic beverages, or the ability to qualify for such license.
- Great time management skills.
- Great attention to detail and organizational skills.
- The ability to get work together as a team and fulfill goals in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and coworkers.
- Basic computer and math skills.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May have to lift to 50 pounds.
