Job Summary

Join UT Southwestern as a Supervisor, Oncology Nursing at the Simmons Cancer Center in the GI Oncology Clinic and help with our commitment to deliver compassionate care. As a Supervisor at UT Southwestern, you will have the opportunity to join a team of the top cancer specialists in the country.

As a valued Supervisor – Oncology Nursing, you will provide management operational of daily patient care and support and maintain clinic standards with our multidisciplinary team. Supporting the Gastrointestinal and Genitourinary Oncology Clinics. Monday – Friday, Days, 40 hours/week

Job Duties

• Oversees and/or teaches others specialized knowledge and skills necessary to perform techniques and routines in area of specialty.
• Provides operational management of daily patient care services.
• Assesses, monitors, and evaluates systems for delivery of care.
• Assists in development of patient care standards of practice and personnel performance. 
• Designs, executes, and delivers effective system of internal controls applicable and in compliance to laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
• Facilitates teamwork through planned group processes, i.e. workshops, seminars, and staff meetings.
• Supervises nursing staff and/or other non-licensed medical or office support personnel.
• May provide direct patient care. 
• Performs other duties as assigned. 

Experience and Education

• BSN required. 
• Five (5) years general nursing to include one (1) year supervisory experience.
• Licensure as Registered Nurse by Board of Nurse Examiners for State of Texas.
• A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) are required.
• Oncology experience preferred.
