This position is for a Consultant with a strength in process development, mapping and improvement for business and IT organizations. The Consultant will work with diverse clients ranging from small and medium size enterprises to Fortune 100 firms. Working in a team environment with internal and Client stakeholders, the consultant will develop, analyze, and optimize clients' processes. This involves coordinating process development activities within a client's organization, working with stakeholders to understand and map their business processes, and leading change management efforts during implementation.
To ensure Clients realize the value of these improvement efforts, you will work with Client leadership stakeholders to identify business needs, UML (Unified Modeling Language) modeling and requirements gathering, develop focused solutions, and realize those solutions by implementing effective business processes and ultimately measure success and guide leadership decision making using key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics and process performance analytics.
Engagements are usually longer in duration, which allows for the consultant to oversee the implementation of his/her process improvement recommendations.
Responsibilities:
The Consultant will perform the following job responsibilities in addition to others as required for each project:
- Manages and implements process improvement initiatives within their assigned projects.
- The Consultant is the primary resource to project teams in support of all process improvement initiatives. The Consultant will work with the project team and interact with the client to do process mapping, UML modeling, flow design, and analysis to identify process improvement requirements
- Design and produce system and process improvement artifacts including process maps, standard work instructions and standard work aids.
- The Consultant will oversee the implementation of the system and process improvement recommendations with the client and work with other consultants to coordinate all facets of system and process improvement initiatives
- Mentor and coach team members on the fundamentals of business process and UML modeling, Lean/Toyota Production System, business process engineering, and similar areas of knowledge
- Develop new knowledge in system and process improvement to support client initiatives
- Data analytics and metrics development. Develop Key Performance Indicators for the current state, and track KPIs during and after implementation of process improvement recommendations
General Consultant Qualifications:
Qualified candidates for Consultant Level positions will have the following qualifications:
- Undergraduate Degree in technical field with two years of professional experience, or Graduate Degree, or equivalent in combination of education and/or experience
- Strong skills in presentation, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
- Demonstrated success in analysis driven problem solving
- Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment
- Ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams and influence without authority
- Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive materials and information
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with client personnel
- Expertise in data analytics, data presentation, and KPI/dashboard development
Process Improvement Qualifications:
In addition to the general qualifications required for a Consultant level position, it is desirable, although not essential, that the Consultant has one or more of the following Subject Matter Area Qualifications:
- Experience with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) and SDLC (System Development Life-cycle) processes preferred
- Understanding of tools and techniques required to effectively develop or improve business processes. Demonstrated knowledge and experience using process improvement tools and techniques to drive organizational change
- Prior experience in Lean, Visual Controls, Toyota Production System, or process design, and re-engineering strongly desired
- Knowledge of utility, or construction, or healthcare industry preferred
- Knowledge of process modeling and process diagramming software and tools
System Improvement Qualifications:
In addition to the general qualifications required for a Consultant level position, it is essential, that the Consultant has UML modeling experience including:
- Structural Modeling - Structural modeling captures the static features of a system. They consist of the following −
- Classes diagrams
- Objects diagrams
- Deployment diagrams
- Package diagrams
- Composite structure diagram
- Component diagram
- Behavioral Modeling - describes the interaction in the system. It represents the interaction among the structural diagrams. Behavioral modeling shows the dynamic nature of the system.
- Activity diagrams
- Interaction diagrams
- Use case diagrams
- All the above show the dynamic sequence of flow in a system.
- Architectural Modeling - represents the overall framework of the system. It contains both structural and behavioral elements of the system. Architectural model can be defined as the blueprint of the entire system. Package diagram comes under architectural modeling.
It is desirable, although not essential, that the Consultant has previous experience with one or more of the following Enterprise Systems:
- OPPM - Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management
- Oracle Primavera Unifier – Capital Program Management
- Oracle Primavera P6 - Planning and Scheduling
- Ecosys - Enterprise Project Performance
- Sage Financial Management Software
Travel Requirements:
- Remote Work opportunities; with up to 25% in the office and/or travel to clients.
