Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst with experience in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of healthcare workflows and technologies, particularly EHR systems. They will collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and translate them into actionable insights and solutions. The Business Analyst will play a crucial role in optimizing EHR usage and improving overall efficiency and quality of healthcare delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including healthcare providers, clinicians, IT staff, and management, to gather and document business requirements related to EHR systems.
- Conduct thorough analysis of current EHR workflows and processes to identify areas for improvement, efficiency gains, and optimization opportunities.
- Work closely with IT teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and functional designs for EHR enhancements or implementations.
- Assist in the testing and validation of EHR system changes, ensuring they meet business requirements and comply with regulatory standards.
- Provide training and support to end-users on EHR system functionality, workflows, and best practices.
- Participate in change management activities related to EHR implementations or upgrades, including communication, training, and stakeholder engagement.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to EHR systems and healthcare IT.
- Collaborate with vendors and external partners as needed to implement EHR solutions or integrate with other healthcare systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the healthcare industry with a focus on EHR systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, including functionality, interoperability, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex business processes and systems, identify issues, and propose effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP) or relevant healthcare IT certifications (e.g., CPHIMS) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with specific EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts) and understanding of their modules and functionalities.
- Knowledge of healthcare industry standards and regulations, such as HL7, FHIR, Meaningful Use, and MACRA.
- Experience with data analytics tools and techniques for healthcare data analysis and reporting.
- Understanding of healthcare reimbursement models and revenue cycle management processes.
