Job description

The San Francisco Standard (sfstandard.com) is expanding its newsroom and is on the hunt for a passionate and seasoned Food Reporter. As a full-time member of our team, you will be at the forefront of covering the dining trends, restaurant business and early adopting food culture that defines the San Francisco Bay Area.

We are seeking an individual with an insatiable appetite for great food and even better stories, a deep understanding of the restaurant industry, and an open mind for what’s delicious. All of this should be combined with an appreciation for the cultural nuances that make the Bay Area a literal melting pot of food traditions.

Strong opinions about the Mission burrito, Ben Affleck’s Dunkin’ commercial, and the keto diet are not only welcomed but required.

This is an in-person role based in San Francisco, and occasional evening or weekend work may be required. We offer competitive salaries and excellent benefits.

The pay range for this role is $75,000 to $140,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors unique to each candidate. We encourage you to apply even if you don’t fit all the preferred qualifications of the job.
