Job description
L'ATELIER de Joel Robuchon seeks an enthusiastic and capable Head Bartender to join our exceptional team of service leaders.
The Head Bartender will contribute to the beer, spirits and cocktail selections offered to the restaurant brands based on relevance to concept, competition and industry trends.
This role is responsible for always providing prompt and friendly food and beverage service to our guests by following the standards of the L'ATELIER de Joel Robuchon and Le Jardinier brand
Your Responsibilities:
- Accurately and efficiently prepares and serves alcoholic or soft drink beverages behind the bar, including our all cocktail recipes and wine selections, and provides service to our guests wishing to dine at the bar.
- Work to ensure continuous development in quality of guest experience, service, operational efficiency, employee retention and satisfaction.
- Work with the Beverage Director and General Manager to provide a bar program that is consistent with the philosophy of our Brand.
- Comprehend and perform to the expectations of the restaurant’s service, food, bar and beverage manuals.
- Assist with and oversee the bar educational program for the staff.
- Acquire and maintain the full knowledge of all beverages being served in the restaurants.
- Works with Beverage Director and restaurant management to effectively control and manage bar purchases, invoices, and pricing while ensuring goods are received incorrect count and condition.
- Conduct inventories on a daily, weekly and monthly basis in accordance withrestaurant policies.
- Coordinates bar service/pairings with the front and back of house.
- Ensures that the restaurant is properly stocked with the appropriate amount of glassware, beverage lists, coasters, bar tools, mise-en-place, candles, etc prior to, and throughout, service.
- Attends pre-shifts and addresses any changes made to the bar beverage list.
- Maintains the condition/cleanliness of the beverage lists and updates changes.
- Maintains the liquor room and bar with a true and accurate bin system.
- Supervise bartenders consistent with service policies and SOP’s of the restaurants.
- All other duties assigned.
Your Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years working as a bartender in comparable bar programs required.
- Associate-level program in Hospitality or equivalent.
- Barsmarts or Alcohol Server Certificate.
- High School Diploma, or equivalent level of education, required (Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure)
- Associate’s Degree in Hospitality or equivalent Certification
- Must be knowledgeable on a wide range of cocktail recipes, wine varietals, craft beers, and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must possess basic computer skills, knowledge of computer accounting programs, Math skills as much as budgetary analysis required.
- Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and applicable health codes.
- Must have manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, and stretch. Can frequently lift up to 30 pounds, as well as work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours).
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule. (including nights, weekends, and holidays)
