Student Affairs Secretary

Position Summary

The Secretary in the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) will provide high-quality customer service to students, faculty, staff, and guests. Strong candidates will be able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously with confidence and poise in a fast-paced environment. The Secretary will provide travel, clerical, program, and technical support for the OSA academic, recruitment, and admissions staff. Support will be accomplished by coordinating and initiating various activities to facilitate the OSA functioning while integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) values. For example, compile, verify, process, and analyze complex, specialized department information/data; independently renders decisions; resolve problems; interpret information; apprise customers of appropriate actions to facilitate the functioning of the department.

This is an on campus position between the hours of 8 am - 5 pm Monday through Friday with 1-3 Evening/Weekends needed a semester.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education with coursework in typing and shorthand; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in word processing, spreadsheet, database, desktop publishing, calendaring and/or presentation software; typing and filing; and may require knowledge of technical or medical terminology and/or technical training related to the field of employment; may require bilingual abilities in a specific language; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
