The Disney Entertainment Brand & Editorial Team oversees social programming and audience engagement for @Disney and @DisneyPlus. The team is accountable for content development, curation, and publishing; brand campaign planning; strategy; and operations for @Disney, @DisneyPlus (domestic and international), @MickeyMouse @MinnieMouse and @TheDisneyPrincesses, and Disney.com across digital and social platforms.
Our team prizes collaboration and proactivity, and works cross-functionally with many other teams across the enterprise. We are on the lookout for a dynamic and motivated Social Audience Development Intern to join our team. If selected for this role, you will report to the Director, Social & Programming.
What You Will Do
As our intern, your role is all about gaining valuable insights into our audience and helping to translate that insight into creative opportunities. You will:
- Use data insights tools, reports, and industry research to develop an understanding of @Disney and @Disney+ social audiences
- Recommend content opportunities and campaign activations that will connect with the audiences
- Document findings and recommendations
- Continually assess the social landscape for content and behavioral trends
- Form strategic business recommendations based on industry research and data analysis.
- Assist with day-to-day operations, data entry, and documentation tied to long-term projects for the brand.
- Assist with content posting and assist the team coordinators, managers, and specialists as needed
- Participate in brainstorms and team planning sessions as needed
Required Qualifications & Skills

- Proficient in Google Docs, Google Drive, Word, Excel, and Keynote.
- Availability to travel to Anaheim during the week of 8/9-8/11 for D23 event planning and execution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship and/or work experience in audience development or audience analytics or related field.
- Knowledge of Airtable
- Familiarity with Sprinklr
- Experience working with multiple collaborators to carry projects across the finish line
Education
Undergraduate students in their senior year (or recently graduated within the past six months) pursuing a bachelor's degree in public relations, media, communications, or related field.
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
Additional Information
- The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 through August 2024
- Able to be fully available for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
- Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank/Glendale, CA area
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
