Maintenance Tech (Richmond, IN)

Description: 

We are a global manufacturer and marketer of plastic packaging products. We have over 300+ facilities across the globe and more than 47,000 + employees.

Job Function/Essential Duties :

• Assists maintenance team members with technical issues and/or advanced problems.

• Inspects work performed by maintenance team members.

• Corresponds with Maintenance Manager to plan team’s priorities.

• Work directly with vendors on-site and oversee their assignment.

• Partners with Production Manager and Scheduler for machine shut-downs (ex: schedule PM’s)

• Answers direct requests from the manufacturing floor “calls” by making the initial evaluation of the situation and determining what level of maintenance is needed for the issue/repair.

• Will resolve requests from the manufacturing floor and perform preventive maintenance tasks.

• Performs all tasks necessary, including root cause analysis, to operate maintenance room equipment according to procedure.

• Maintains equipment in production ensuring ready and safe condition.

• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment as needed.

• Participates in cross functional process improvement teams.

• Actively participates in daily team production meetings – communicates key items within the plant environment on safety, quality, maintenance, production and continuous improvement.

• Follows work instructions as needed.

• Maintains 5S environment in work area.

• Participates in equipment optimization and cost control/reduction activities.

• Assists maintenance staff to ensure all auxiliary equipment is in place and in working order.
