Job Summary:

As a Physician specializing in Anesthesiology, you will play a crucial role in providing safe and effective anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will include administering anesthesia, monitoring patient vital signs, and managing pain before, during, and after surgery. You will collaborate closely with surgical teams, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety in the perioperative period. Additionally, you will be responsible for evaluating patients preoperatively, developing individualized anesthetic plans, and providing post-anesthesia care in recovery units.

Requirements:

1. Board Certification in Anesthesiology:

   • Must hold board certification in Anesthesiology from a recognized institution.

2. Active Iowa (IA) Medical License - HIGHLY PREFERRED:

   • Preference for candidates with an active and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Iowa.

3. Cardiac Experience - PREFERRED:

   • Preferred experience in cardiac anesthesia, including cases such as open-heart surgery and other cardiac procedures.

4. Procedural Experience:

   • Demonstrated proficiency in a wide range of anesthetic procedures, including but not limited to:
     • General Surgical Cases - Adult
     • General Surgical Cases - Pediatric
     • Minor Nerve Blocks
     • IV Regional Anesthesia
     • Plexus Anesthesia
     • Open Heart Anesthesia
     • Thoracic Cases (Except Open Heart)
     • Complex Vascular Cases (Except Open Heart)
     • Complex Orthopedic Cases
     • Spinal Anesthesia
     • Epidural Anesthesia
     • Regional Anesthesia
     • Neurosurgical Cases
     • Ventilation Management
     • Local Infiltration
     • Acute Pain Management Procedures
     • Insertion of Central Line
     • Arterial Line
     • PA Catheter

This position requires a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist with a preference for an active Iowa medical license. Preference is also given to candidates with experience in cardiac anesthesia and proficiency in a wide range of anesthetic procedures across various surgical specialties. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent clinical skills, effective communication, and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.
