Essential Job Functions: - Accompany the provider into the patient exam room in order to transcribe a history and physical examination, along with the assessment and plan
- Provides real time documentation, accurately of the physician's encounter with the patient and care giver(s) into the electronic medical record
- Lists patient's chief complaint, patient history, primary diagnoses, and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as directed by the provider
- Documents any procedures performed by the provider
- Creates orders for any further testing ordered by the provider
- Maintains professional decorum at all times
- Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively
- Must be able to act calmly and professionally in a busy office setting/stressful situation
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications: • Undergraduate degree in healthcare or science field
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• Computer proficiency and ability to adapt to changing workflows
