Job description


The Department of Population and Public Health Sciences is in search of a Research Coordinator I. A bilingual (English/Spanish), dependable, flexible, and detail-oriented individual is needed to join a research team at the University of Southern California to support a new research study. The study is interested in examining the effects of stress on substance use behaviors and mental health among Hispanic/Latinx adolescents and young adults. Employment involves (1) recruiting 12-20 year old participants from across the greater Los Angeles area from school visits, community organizations, and community events; (2) scheduling data collection assessments with participants including dropping off and picking up data collection materials with participants; (3) instructing participants on data collection procedures; (4) monitoring participant progress during data collection assessments; and (5) providing project support to the research study and the study staff personnel, students, and faculty investigators.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational capabilities and a demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks. Flexible working hours including evenings and weekends are needed. Prior experience in a research environment or working in the Hispanic/Latinx community is preferred.


The hourly rate range for this position is $30.62 - $31.00. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 1 year Minimum Field of Expertise: Administrative or research experience. Working knowledge of MS Office applications. Demonstrated effective communication and writing skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
