Job description

LAKELAND UNIVERSITY, an independent liberal arts institution located in east central Wisconsin, invites applications from a diverse group of qualified candidates for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Statistics, to begin August 2024. Lakeland seeks a candidate committed to serving a diverse student community who could teach a range of undergraduate courses within the mathematics, statistics, and data science programs, and teach courses within Lakeland's interdisciplinary core curriculum. Teaching requirements would include introductory math courses, to undergraduate students with varied experience and ability levels, various upper-level statistics courses, and to teach other courses in our mathematics, data science, and general education programs as needed. The coordination and supervision of student Co-Op and internships in mathematics and/or data science is also expected, as the faculty member serves as a liaison between the student and employer.

This is a full-time, renewable, tenure-track position with a 24-credit teaching load expectation and nine-month contract. A doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in mathematics, statistics, or data science is required for the rank of assistant professor and for tenure. The ideal candidate will have taught at the undergraduate level and have experience working with underprepared mathematics students.
