Who Are We Looking For?

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Civil Engineer in the Engineering Division. This position is responsible to assist with the planning, designing, construction, and maintenance of the City's public infrastructure and capital improvement projects and to assist with project management under the supervision of the City Engineer.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or other related engineering or science field relevant to the position.
  2. Two (2) years of work experience in civil engineering plan review, engineering design, or closely related experience.
  3. Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record for eligibility of City coverage

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Completion of FE Exam.
  2. Work experience within a municipal or public works/public utilities department.

Salary & Benefits

The starting salary for this full-time/exempt role will more than likely be between $78,393.64 and $86,236.80 depending on qualifications. It is anticipated that this salary range will increase by 3.5% as of May 1, 2024 with final approval of the proposed budget. Additionally, an excellent benefits package is provided including, but not limited to, group health insurance and IMRF pension.
