Job Description: Marketing Data Scientist
Job Summary: As a Marketing Data Scientist, you will play a key role in driving data-driven marketing strategies and initiatives. Leveraging your expertise in analytics, direct mail marketing, and data mining, you will be responsible for generating actionable insights, optimizing marketing campaigns, and maximizing customer engagement and conversion rates. Your contributions will directly impact the company's growth and profitability in the dynamic and competitive ecommerce industry.
Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Insights
- Utilize advanced statistical and analytical techniques to analyze large datasets, extract meaningful insights, and identify patterns and trends related to customer behavior, market dynamics, and marketing effectiveness.
- Develop predictive models and segmentation strategies to optimize targeting and personalization efforts.
- Interpret and communicate findings to cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and sales, to drive data-informed decision-making.
- Marketing Campaign Optimization:
- Collaborate with marketing teams to design and execute targeted campaigns, leveraging insights from data analysis.
- Develop and implement A/B testing methodologies to evaluate and refine marketing strategies, messaging, and creative assets.
- Monitor campaign performance metrics, including conversion rates, ROI, customer acquisition, and retention, and recommend optimization strategies to maximize results.
- Data Mining and Market Research:
- Extract and analyze data from multiple sources, such as CRM systems, web analytics platforms, and third-party databases, to uncover actionable insights and opportunities.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends, customer preferences, and potential growth opportunities.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, marketing analytics, Machine Learning & AI technologies and ecommerce industry best practices.
Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree or Ph.D. is a plus.
- A demonstrated curiosity and application of AI tools within work processes.
- A demonstrated path of professional development and growth in new and emerging analytics tools, techniques and strategies.
- Strong experience in data analysis, data mining, and statistical modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
- Solid understanding of marketing principles, direct mail marketing strategies, and ecommerce industry dynamics.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), and marketing automation platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills to effectively present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Prior experience in an ecommerce or retail environment is preferred.
