Job Title: Echo Technician / Cardiac Sonographer
Location: Manchester, CT 06040
Shift: 5x8-Hour (07:30 - 16:00)
Start Date: ASAP
Job Duration: 13-week renewable contract
Salary: $2,352-$2,744/week
We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Echo Technician / Cardiac Sonographer to join our dynamic team in the Radiology / Cardiology department. As an Echo Technician, you will be responsible for performing high-quality echocardiograms and assisting with various cardiac diagnostic procedures. Responsibilities:
- Perform echocardiograms using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring accuracy and quality in diagnostic procedures.
- Assist cardiologists and physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
- Obtain and record patient information, medical history, and current symptoms.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the procedures.
- Analyze and interpret echocardiogram images, identifying any abnormalities or irregularities.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to assess patient conditions and provide accurate diagnostic information.
- Maintain documentation and records related to patient procedures and results.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Echo Technician / Cardiac Sonographer.
- First-time applicants are welcome.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
- Proficiency in performing RIT/RVOT, TEE, treadmill stress echos, and stress tests.
- Experience with Definity and bubble contrast.
- Familiarity with PACS, portables, and M-Mode imaging.
- Preferred experience in IV starts.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have a valid certification as an Echo Technician or Cardiac Sonographer.
- Willingness to be on-call every 3rd weekend.
