Content Operations is ultimately responsible for successfully delivering Disney’s entertainment and sports content to millions of people every day. This involves developing, operating, and leading a global content supply chain – the myriad of steps involved from taking a finalized TV show/movie, or live piece of content, from inside Disney to audiences around the globe, in their preferred language and format. This team also leads technology operations in Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
The Senior Manager, Delivery & Operational Intelligence leads data analysis efforts related to key performance indicators and cost metrics across the ~$300M in operating spend, ~$50M in capital spend and ~1,800 employees of the Content Operations organization, as well as efficiencies and business value modeling spanning the broader $1.6B of Disney Entertainment & ESPN (DE&E) Technology operating cost base. The role operationally enables functional areas including content platforms, technical services, distribution operations, and international technology & operations. They employ advanced skills in data collection, mapping and analysis; critical thinking and opportunity identification; process and workflow mapping; data modeling and visualization to optimize business value and insights.
This resource leads operational and financial data analysis activities supporting ongoing evolution and optimization of the Content Operations organization within DE&E Technology. They manage the prioritization and workflow of ~$50M in annual Capital spend spanning a portfolio of systems core to enabling the content distribution pipeline. They directly identify, validate and support execution and tracking of opportunities to make the organization more efficient and effective. Immediate support is vital in ongoing centralization of financial and third party spend baselines, as well as modeling and validating business cases and cost saving opportunities. Ongoing efforts also include enablement and visualization of operational performance and volume metrics.
This resource leads by influence across multiple cross-functional teams, including multiple pillars of DE&E Technology and acts as a key partner with Finance, Sourcing and HR on resource and investment efforts. They navigate complex organizational structures and a matrixed environment, gaining trust and buy-in and effectively managing execution across all levels, including dealing directly with pillar executive leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Directly drive management, prioritization and workflow of >$300M in Operating and ~$50M in Capital spend for the Content Operations organization
- Provide ad hoc support for cost modeling efforts, including business value modeling for technology delivery opportunities
- Partner with finance, operations and sourcing on vision and execution for financial process changes to simplify effort while maintaining key visibility requirements; provide thought leadership to solutions and help pressure test options and roll out changes
- Support vendor management efforts with data analysis and modeling
- Execute service tagging spanning all incoming operating and capital transactions
- Identify process changes to enable consistency and automation, with a focus on simplicity and reducing administrative overhead for the broader organization
- Provide leadership across functional pillars and partner organizations to execute changes
- Ensure change adoption, provide documentation, training and guidance
- Become a student-of-the-game, demonstrating command of the technical range of the Content Operations organization, including content platforms, technical services, distribution operations, and international technology and operations
- Employ tools like Airtable and Smartsheet for ongoing honing of operational processes to maximize self-service, automation and efficient workflows
- Partner with senior leaders on capture and prioritization of efficiency opportunities
- Lead data modeling and analysis efforts to quantify opportunities and monitor realization
- Manage savings tracking and related tooling/reporting for synergy and savings target realization across Content Operations
- Partner with Delivery and Operational Intelligence resources cross-pillar (including Engineering Services and Media Engineering Technology teams) to capture and validate data inputs, including partnership with Finance
- Craft narratives around organizational efficiency and business impact of related efforts
- Establish, enable and mature centralized visibility to key KPIs across Content Operations (e.g. volume metrics, delivery status)
- Document Content Operations requirements and partner with other stakeholders (design, technology, source data owners) across the company to ensure data collection, and technology enablement of requirements
- Leverage technology (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau) to generate MVPs to pilot insights
- Create action plans and manage tracking against milestones enabling performance metric visibility
- Facilitate regular communication processes and reporting, internally and externally to the organization
- Establish and execute talent initiatives based on organizational evolution and goals
- Become a student of the game, demonstrating command of the technical range of the Content Operations organization, including content platforms, technical services, distribution operations, and international technology and operations.
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 8-years of relevant working experience across Finance, Data, Media & Entertainment and Technology or a consulting role
- A minimum of 3-years experience managing people
- Experience in working in a matrix environment and managing multiple stakeholders, and possess leadership presence/gravitas
- Perform and deliver large-scale, consistently trustable, precise and actionable quantitative and qualitative analyses
- Strong financial acumen

- A minimum of 3-years Management consulting experience
- Fortune 500 company or Management Consulting firm
- Experience in post-acquisition integration

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $149,300k to $200,200k per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
