Minimum Education/Training/Experience
Associate Degree or higher from and accredited institution.
Five (5) or more years experience as a police supervisor.
Valid Driver’s License.
Master Peace Officer Certified in the State of Texas.
Current and in good standing TCOLE certification as a Peace Officer.
Preferred Education/Training/Experience
Bachelors degree.
Higher education experience.
Advance law enforcement leadership training such as Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT) or the FBI National Academy.
Minimum Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of:
· Supervisory principles;
· Managerial principles;
· Budgeting principles;
· Advanced law enforcement principles and procedures;
· Law enforcement administration;
· Applicable laws, rules and regulations;
· Evidence preservation and practices;
· Defensive tactics;
· Firearm usage and justification;
· First aid principles.

· Prioritizing and assigning work;

· Valid driver’s license.
· Valid peace officer’s license.
· Current on TCOLE training units.
Job Duties
·Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained; and making hiring, termination and disciplinary recommendations.
· Coordinates internal activities with the community and external agencies.
· Supervises the review of police reports, records, and inspections.
· Prepares security notices and other documents; maintains contact with local law enforcement
agencies.
· Develops and enforces department policies and procedures.
· Develops and administers the department budget.
· Supervises and participates in special or highly sensitive investigations.
· Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Physical Requirements
Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to chemicals, vibrations, fumes, odors, inadequate lighting, work space restrictions, intense noises and travel.
