Job description
Summer student staff are hired to work with the Event and Conference Management team. In addition to working with overnight camps living in the residence halls, summer staff also work as members of the ECM team for summer events held elsewhere on campus, including the O’Neill Center, home to many area high school graduations and public events.
Summer student work is a great deal of manual labor – helping with setups of staging and chairs for graduations and O’Neill events, along with check-in, desk hours, check-out, basic clean-up, furniture moving, and other residential operations while groups are on campus.
The hiring process for summer student staff usually begins in late March. Applications are available on the Housing Employment webpage. Once the application deadline has passed, interviews are scheduled for those who indicate they are able to work the hours and times offered for the summer. Interviews are conducted by housing & residence life and events and conference management staff.
Summer student staff should be prepared to work weekday and weekend hours, early morning through late night.
Summer student staff pay rates for the summer of 2021 have not yet been established. Please check back.
