Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a prestigious public institution who is seeking an Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join their team. Details below!

Title: Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist
Location: Hybrid (2 days on-site) - Charlottesville, VA
Hourly Rate: $23.00 - $28.00/hour
Job Type: Contract with the potential for Contract to Hire

A minimum of 5 years of full-cycle AP experience is required!

Primary Responsibilities:

• Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers and control petty cash spending
• Verify vendor accounts, pay vendors and resolve purchase order, invoice or payment discrepancies
• Issue purchase order amendments and stop payments
• Monitor payroll expense claims, including salary advances and overtime payments
• Reconcile account transactions with the general ledger
• Perform recordkeeping and prepare financial reports
• Keep informed of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Minimum 5 years full-cycle Accounts Payable experience
• Workday financial system experience (a plus, but not required)
• Salesforce experience (a plus, but not required)
• Higher Education Accounts Payable experience (a plus, but not required)
• Experience in high-volume, fast-paced working environments
• Intermediate knowledge in and experience with Purchase Orders (2-way & 3-way matching)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Quick learner with proven high critical thinking skills
• Detail oriented
• Excellent customer service skills
• Flexible and amenable to adjusting as needed in an ever-changing environment
