Job description
We're hiring a data-driven accountant assistant for an integral position on our team. The candidate will assist the Accounting/Office Manager in the profitable growth of the company and provide support to management through the accurate and timely performance of bookkeeping functions, vendor management, Human Resources support and procedure maintenance. Additionally, he or she will provide accurate and timely transcription of customer information and efficient scheduling and communication for technicians and project leads.
Responsibilities:
- Manage payroll duties to ensure employees are paid on time
- Consistently input daily financial transactions and finalize the posting process
- Make sure accounts payable/accounts receivable are processed efficiently
- Perform bookkeeping duties: Maintain data on financial statements
- Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct daybook, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger
- Complete job costing and labor costing on completed financial data accurately and timely to Operations Manager
- Complete/review profitability-bonus spreadsheet (DASH-QB)
- Back-up Credit Card processing for completed work orders and invoices
- Assist with overflow calls from reception
- Provide timely and professional Email correspondence
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel, and basic accounting systems
- Excellent time management, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Has the ability to solicit, process, and integrate inputs and ideas from peers and executives. Recognizes areas of conflict or disagreement and deals with them through open and honest dialogue. Effectively provides feedback
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and computer software, especially MS Office, Word and Excel. Must also have familiarity with scheduling programs and be able to learn new software.
