That’s where you come in! What You'll Do: Be a subject matter expert in the production of cards, packaging, and other assets in multiple languages using JavaScript, AppleScript and XML. Understand scripting and automation processes that reduce manual work and solve technical issues when they arise. Design, develop, and test new production processes and workflows. Follow industry trends in technology and work with the team to implement new tools. Lead large initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and documentation. Demonstrate, document, and train the team in standard processes to ensure high quality design is generated as intended. Collaborate across teams to develop new print treatments and ensure that all materials are produced to a consistently high standard. Work with Editing, Graphic Design, Ops, Creative, and QA teams to discover and eliminate drivers of error, and close gaps in process. What You'll Bring: 5+ years of experience in a high-volume production art role Self-motivated, results oriented, and flexible Expert knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop required Good interpersonal skills, the ability to earn trust, and to mentor your peers Strong skills in Illustrator and Acrobat required Expert understanding of print production standards, including specialty print treatments Ability to troubleshoot scripts in an AppleScript and/or JavaScript environment Nice to Have: Advanced knowledge of XML workflows, GREP, and scripting for InDesign Bilingual with fluency in Japanese – For any TA typesetting in Japanese (JP SME) - proficiency in both English (conversational) and Japanese (N2 or higher) is required What to Expect from Us: The Technical Artist group is a supportive and friendly bunch of people, working almost entirely remotely but quick to lend each other help when needed.
