We are on the lookout for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. As the first full-time DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing and reconstructing our infrastructure and self-hosted CI/CD setup. Your contributions will shine a light on blind spots within our application and infrastructure, ensuring high observability and reliability. Responsibilities as a Senior DevOps Engineer at our company include:

Taking ownership of, maintaining, improving, and scaling our technology infrastructure.
Proposing and integrating security practices into the development and deployment process.
Identifying and implementing cybersecurity enhancements, conducting continuous vulnerability assessments.
Troubleshooting issues related to the product and infrastructure within our cloud-native architecture.
Automating the building and deployment of products into the infrastructure.
Treating infrastructure as code and automating changes to it.
Creating "self-service" tools for engineers, QA, and other teams in the future.
Coaching team members through mentorship, sharing best practices, documenting changes, and providing training on new tools and automation.
Collaborating with our engineering, product, QA, and design teams to strategically improve the product, infrastructure, performance, technology, and security.

To excel in this role, you should:

Possess 4+ years of DevOps engineering experience in a fast-paced environment, maintaining and deploying highly available and fault-tolerant systems at scale.
Be able to effectively explain and communicate technical work to non-technical team members at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrate strong experience with core Amazon Web Services, including IAM, EC2, VPC networking and security, block and object storage, CloudFront, Data Migration Service, ECS/Fargate.
Have a background in creating full "hands-off" automation solutions using common programming languages such as Bash, NodeJS, or Python.
Exhibit experience with containerization, clustering, and various ecosystem tools.
Have expertise in using infrastructure-as-code tools for full-stack deployments and automating entire infrastructures.
Demonstrate experience with CI/CD implementation, particularly with Jenkins and related tools (e.g., git).
Possess operational experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Redis, Amazon Athena, etc.
Be well-versed in applying security best practices to infrastructure design and the process of building, configuring, and deploying code.
Have familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools.
Either hold an AWS certification or be willing to work towards it within your first year at our company.
Be available to work until at least 2 pm MST to ensure overlap with existing team members.
