POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Department of Biological Chemistry/IGP is recruiting for a Project Scientist position in Professor Eisenberg’s laboratory.
This position is intended for collaborative research on discovery and development of small molecules, peptides, and small proteins with the capacity to inhibit and disassemble pathogenic amyloid fibrils, particularly those associated with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and ALS diseases.
Job responsibilities include supporting the PI in the design and execution of funded projects, including preparation of amyloid-related specimens for negative-staining and cryo-EM electron microscopy. Responsibilities also include assisting the PI in study design, day-to-day tasks related to project management, data analysis, manuscript preparation and submission, and supervising graduate/undergraduate students/junior postdoctoral fellows working in this group.
