Cecchi's Bar and Grill, in the heart of the vibrant West Village, is seeking a Brunch Bartender to join our professional team. Created by owner and operator, Michael Cecchi-Azzolina, Cecchi's Bar and Grill is committed to culinary excellence, inviting ambiance, and unparalleled customer experience. The Pastry Chef is responsible for preparing and baking all pastry and baked goods, and at times, their garnishment and presentation. The dessert menu at Cecchi's is limited, generally 3 or 4 pastries and some baked goods.
Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to the below:
- Providing input to Executive Chef for pastry and dessert menus
- Maintaining updated and accurate recipes and costing for all dishes
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen area and directing necessary employees to do so as well
- Promoting teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with the rest of the restaurant.
- Assisting Chef de Cuisine in sourcing supplies and equipment and ensure best quality and prices
- Utilizing leadership skills and motivation to maximize employee productivity and satisfaction
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- 1+ years experience required in a restaurant pastry department
- Degree or certificate in culinary arts preferred with a focus in baking and pastry
- Full knowledge of pastry techniques and principals concerning starches, fats, sugars, liquids, eggs, chocolates, and flavorings
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments
- Understanding local health and safety requirements; ability to ensure that Department of Health standards are upheld
- General knowledge of food preparation methods and culinary terminology
- Capable of working independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work ays, nights, weekends, holidays
- Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- May be required to work in very warm or cold conditions for an extended period of time

- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk and/or hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Team member must be able to lift a minimum of 40lbs. multiple times per day, and push a cart weighing up to 100lbs.
- Must practice proper body mechanics and use appropriate personal protective equipment to avoid injury.
