Job Description and Duties

Remote-Centered
Teleworking employees may be required to report to their headquarters office location on designated telework days. Travel expenses are not reimbursed, however other authorized transit subsidies do exist for those who qualify.


Under general direction of the Chief Systems Actuary, the Senior Actuarial Assistant performs reviews of Principle Based Reserving (PBR) reserve estimates, with particular attention to analyzing any "black box" aspects of the PBR process. Review the underlying model(s), including reviewing relevant underlying code with the assistance of Office of Principle Based Reserving (OPBR) IT staff. Perform complete model reviews, including but not limited to reviewing inputs, outputs, model form, model validation, and model sensitivities. Assist the Chief Systems Actuary and Senior Life Actuaries with the leadership and direction of the OPBR team. This will include contributing to training efforts for new team members, presenting on PBR topics, and modelling exemplary dedication and attention to detail.


Travel up to 25% required for the performance of this position. This travel will include overnight stay.
