Basic ResponsibilitiesInstall, support, and maintain audiovisual systems in major event spaces across campus.
Provide event support for events that occur in major campus event spaces.
Acquire and evaluate new products and make recommendations for usage; ensure functionality and train faculty/staff on software/hardware.
Lead deployment of and manage campus audiovisual projects.
Collaborate with other technicians and departments to request and offer new and inventive technical information.
Install, program, support, and maintain audiovisual systems in major event spaces across campus.
Complete training necessary to become an expert on all systems supported.
Support, program, and maintain the AV systems for our major event spaces including Moody Coliseum, Boone Family Theater, Wildcat Stadium, and other venues as assigned.
Collaborate with athletics, ACU TV, and other campus departments to ensure audiovisual systems remain functional and meet the needs of the University.
Create and maintain system documentation.
Utilize a computerized work order system for tracking work requests, solutions, and providing statistics.
Provide event support for events that occur in major campus event spaces.
Attend and provide hands-on support for most major events that occur in major event spaces on campus.
Coordinate with other campus departments to deliver high-quality events in event spaces.
Collaborate with and assist ACUTV to ensure they are appropriately equipped for a high quality broadcast production.
Train customers on use of audiovisual systems
Acquire and evaluate new products and make recommendations for usage; ensure functionality and train faculty/staff on software/hardware.
Research through articles, whitepapers, and attend conferences to find essential and innovative solutions for campus.
Report recommendations and findings and provide documentation; offer tutorials on using technology as needed.
Establish pilots or betas to test the validity of proposed technology changes.
Assist in the audiovisual design process as needed for campus event spaces.
Lead deployment of and manage campus audiovisual projects.
Serve as contact point for A/V related items for all campus construction projects.
Lead or assist in coordination of design for campus A/V projects.
Collaborate across the organization to provide quotes and manage finances for the A/V scope of campus projects.
Serve as needed as primary point of contact for audiovisual design and coordination for new constructions or building renovations.
Maintain campus digital signage equipment and software and oversee campus digital signage program, including major video walls and displays.
Collaborate with other technicians to request and offer new and inventive technical information.
Meet regularly with other technicians, and on-demand with other divisions of the University.
Participate actively within the Technology Support team.
Support other technicians when needed during high volume work requests.
Skills
Logical thinking is required to read technical information; compose technical documents; facilitate technical discussions; problem-solving.
Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills are required for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, communicating with persons with diverse technical knowledge and skills.
Experience and competence with various operating systems and audiovisual systems (e.g. macOS; Windows 10; iOS).
Strong understanding of computer hardware and software
Comprehensive understanding of audiovisual technology and basic signal flow
Strong knowledge of wired/wireless networks, enterprise systems, and servers.
BA/ BS degree or a combination of education and work experience in audiovisual technology or technical support equaling 4 years.
Experience and competence with audiovisual equipment and the operating systems that support it.
Communication skills: strong verbal and written; ability to understand descriptions of problems and ability to convey information and solutions
Experience supporting audiovisual equipment in large athletic venues desired.
Ability to manage time; ability to multitask.
Ability to handle periods of high stress: not easily angered or upset.
Self-motivated.
Manual dexterity: typing, plugging/unplugging connections, use of a mouse/track pad, etc.
Lifting computers and monitors 30 lbs. in weight.
Crawling, bending over/under furniture, cramped spaces, etc. Moving monitors, CPU’s.
Good vision (read monitors, examine connectors, etc.); Not color blind; 20/20 correctable vision.
